Norman “Ski” Peters of Stamford was found guilty of one count each of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and using a telephone to facilitate a drug trafficking felony by a federal jury. The trial began earlier this week on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Between September 2015 and May 2016 Bobby “B.O.” Gutierrez and others conspired to distribute more than 10 kilograms of heroin in Fairfield County. That drug and cocaine was acquired in kilogram quantities from Florida and New York and distributed in Connecticut.
On April 1, 2016, Peters was overheard on a court-authorized wiretap conspiring to purchase 14 grams of cocaine from Gutierrez. Peters was then spotted at B & B Deli in Bridgeport, which was owned by Gutierrez and served as a hub for drug dealing, U.S. Attorney John Durham said. Peters was stopped on his way from the deli back to Stamford and arrested with 14 grams of cocaine.
Peters, 38, will face up to 20 years in prison on the cocaine distribution charge and four years in prison for using a telephone to facilitate the drug deal. No sentencing date has been set.
Durham noted that on Nov. 21, 2016, Gutierrez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin. On April 24, 2017, he was sentenced to 160 months of imprisonment and was ordered to forfeit $171,462 in cash that was seized during the investigation.
